I Sincerely Hope That At The Petraeus Presentation Someone Notes The Similarity |
|
Between his performance and General Powell's at the United Nations. I want the man's self respect shattered for what he is about to do and likening his performance tomorrow to Powell's disgrace in the lead-up to war is simply telling the world that this is yet another farce compliments of the Bush Administration's slavish devotion to politics always, policy never.
What's a General worth these days, what is the value of a lifetimes devotion to the work of defending the nation and the respect it gains when at the whim of the Commander in Chief it can all be lost. Tomorrow's display will be a disgrace and all I hope is that one Democrat will look the General in the eyes and say "Your report here today as this war approaches it end brings to mind Collin Powell's presentation to the United Nations at the same war's outset ... and it is a shame."

C'mon, let loose with an Adlai Stevenson moment - "Dont wait for the translation" when grilling the Soviet ambassador.
