An unanswerable question for "stay the course" numbskulls: |
|
Why don't we let the Iraqis vote on whether we stay in Iraq? (election monitored by UN)
1) If they vote that we leave, we're off the hook (at least in some measure) for what happens afterwards 2) Iraqis will have to work together or suffer the consequences 3) It's a win-win proposition, politically, for any American legislator -- it proves that we really are interested in democracy 4) The troops, most likely, would come home
Of course, #3 is the reason why the administration would never let a proposal like this see the light of day. There is too much money to made in the business of war.

2. Nah. It's good enough for Joe "More War" Biden to merely TALK tough without doing anything. |
