Why does "Bin Laden" sound like a liberal Democrat? |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-09-07 09:52 PM by leftupnorth
Because he knows if he adopts our platform that will discredit it. WHY would he discredit us? Because he wants us to lose the battle over withdrawing from Iraq. Why? Because he WANTS the US in Iraq to continue the bloodbath.
Whether you believe it really is bin Laden or not, it still doesn't change the intent of the message delivered on the tape. Discredit the anti-occupation people. And American media, namely Hannity et al, are more than happy to help that happen.
Way to go Faux, doing bin Laden's work for him!

I don't know many liberal Dems who recommend becoming an Islam follower.
Or a Moonie. Or clitorectomist.

6. Aww, c'mon you know what I meant. I'm talking about Iraq, etc. |

Obviously he's not even close to being a liberal Democrat. But SOME of his language mimicks many liberal democrats. He does it to discredit us.

Side with the Democrats so the Republicans will force the government to stay in Iraq. It's soooooooooooooo obvious. :dem:

12. A lot of people believe that in talking to Muslim Middle Easterners |
|
the proper thing to do is to address their concerns, say that you're in solidarity with them, and accentuate the things that they believe that you want to encourage. "Winning hearts and minds," I believe it's called.
In other words ... you adopt the other's words, their imagery, to the extent possible. If he manages to get enough pressure to get the US out, Anbar will be weaker, and there's every likelihood that he'd claim US withdrawal as a victory.
Da'wah, on the other hand, is obligatory. And the way it's been taken by many Muslims is, of course, the ritual offer of peace, per Muhammed's example. Now, if it's followed by an attack, that's what it is; if it's not followed by an attack, it's still a defender of Islam speaking the right 'truth to power'.

UBL is playing the right and they fall for it every time. It's such an obvious psychological trick, but I honestly feel it is beyond the comprehension of right-wingers with their lack of conceptual abilities.
I think the OP has stated this in a way that the conservative mind just might grasp.

I can see the wheels turning, albeit slowly.
Gotta keep hammering away.
Thanks for the compliment, too.

Yeah, ask bin Laden about his views on same-sex marriage, and unions. Sorry, but this entire bin Laden = Democrat canard is utter and complete bullshit from top to bottom. Just like with Ron Paul, just because someone opposes the war in Iraq doesn't mean they are "one of us" or that they share our values. It means they recognize a massive clusterfuck when they see one. I know plenty of racist, inbred, greedy shitheels that oppose the Iraq war. Only makes them SLIGHTLY less vile.

defense stocks, Halliburton, Lockheed-Martin, Raytheon the whole nine cause our capitalists don't care who they deal with, not really, not when it comes to money and no questions are asked: great war profits are to be made via death, appearing to be a 'liberal democrat' will energize the nut-ball base it is hoped, and keep republicans in power and making ever-more war
hence enters: FOXnews
