How about KO doing a 'best' person in the world?
Several months ago I sent the program a letter suggesting such. They obviously haven't decided to do it. I know good news doesn't sell like bad news does but I think 30 seconds of taking the time to recognize three beautiful, sincere people who are making a positive difference in the world would be awesome and something I would look forward to watching each night.

Anyway, perhaps if this thread sticks around a bit someone from the show might see it and give the idea more thought.

3. Because when the best person turns into an asshole, it gets on the touter
It's WAY safer to stick with the worst.

Keep in mind, OJ was a beloved sports figure, Hertz spokesman, and comedic actor before he killed his wife. Ted Haggard was a God-fearing, popular (amongst a certain set, anyway) and charismatic preacher before we learned he was a meth-head in denial.

Put people on a 'Best' pedestal, and someone will want to knock them off.

It's human nature.

Keith Olbermann does about 200 shows a year. So that means he would give the award to 600 people a year. Obviously when you get a sample that big, a handful are gonna be secretly pedophiles, thieves, murderers, etc. So if Keith gave the "Best person in the world" award to someone who it is discovered 2 years later is a pedophile, O'reilly would be saying Olbermann supports pedophilia.

5. He did once -- a few months ago
He even pre-empted the standard "Worst Person in the World" segment for it.

I can't remember what the occasion was, or who it was for, but I believe he said something like "this will NOT be a normal feature."
