Regarding the loose nukes - has this angle been discussed? |
|
It occurs to me that there's another scenario.
So, next week there's a stand-down order while this is investigated. The investigation gets alot of media attention, and the upshot of the whole thing is this:
"If it could happen here, HERE, where we have the best (BEST!) security possible, then we just HAVE to expect the same or worse of... Pakistan, India, Russia, etc... all the other nukular countries -- ALL OF THEM are vulnerable to having their nukes STOLEN by al Qaeda!! And so, this is why we have to pre-emtively nuke someone, preferably starting with Iran."
Anyone going down that road yet?

2. Why we have "loose nukes" initiatives |
|
And why we need more attention paid to the program to buy and dispose of the nukes all around the world. Kerry campaigned on it in 2004. Obama went to Russia with Lugar, who wrote the original legislation, and co-sponsored the new legislation to expand the program to all WMD's.
