3. Nothing but bullshit. So much for the oath he swore to uphold the
Constitution. He'll say whatever The Leader wants him to. The good men have already been forced out of the top ranks of the military.

4. A quick promotion to new commander of Centcom??

After he lies his ass off to congress later today.

Followed by a Presidential Medal of Freedom award after he retires in a year or so.

6. Maybe they will name a bridge after him, like the Westmooreland bridge in SC
Which I think every Vietnam vet should piss on, just for emphasis.

Westmooreland's bridge hasn't been cleaned or maintained in some time. It looks pretty disreputable, but that's about right.

5. Whatever the administration signed him up to say.
If I had to guess, it would be "The Surge Is Working. We just need a leeeeeeeeetle More Time. We Can't Cut and Run now!"

Oh, yeah, and "there's a light at the end of the tunnel" :eyes:

7. Lemme see, a report written by the Whitehouse...
delivered by David Petraeus, on how well David Petraeus has been doing with the escallation - which is sometimes referred to as the 'Petraeus Doctrine'. The same David Petraeus who 'confirmed' to news media in 2003 that mobile biological weapons labs had been found in Iraq.

Hmmmm

8. Other....
He started his lying well before a special "surge" report was a twinkle in George Bush's eye.

He unequivocally stated that troops had found the supposed "mobile biological production vehicles" during the initial invasion of Iraq. That was proven to be a big FAT lie and his lying hasn't abated since then.

Betrayus is a liar, has always been a liar, and will always be a liar. He's a good little corporate soldier and will do or day anything his CIC asks of him. He's seen what happens to Generals who don't entirely agree with Little Boots. He doesn't wish that same treatment for himself.

10. He'll say...
"The last surge contingent has just arrived and preliminary reports are encouraging. So now that the surge is fully implemented, we should know the results in a few months."

That means December. But because of the holiday recess, the report will be delayed until the big SOTU roll-out -- Blivet will stand with arms splayed from his holsters, brow furrowed, tongue snaking out between each sentence, trying to convince everyone with his canned speech that he's really an intelligent tough guy and not just an idiot frat boy.

Gawd, I hate these people.

And I'm furious with the Dems for not booting his stupid ass to the curb.

12. The Republicans have perfected "Lying while telling the absolute truth"
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 06:50 AM by Tesha
"Other"

The Republicans have perfected "Lying while telling the
absolute truth". That is, the exact words that come out
of their mouths are the unimpeachable truth, but the
overall impression they convey is a comlete lie, an
aboslutely false representation of reality.

In the Petraeus case, you've already seen telegraphed
exactly how it's going to go:

"Sectarian violence is down" (because we've carefully
defined sectarian violence to exclude most of the
actual violence).

"The surge is working" (towards the domestic political
ends at which it was targeted, namely, keeping the
Democrats castrated and off balance).

"Iraqi forces are coming up to speed" (and every day,
as the old forces desert or turn their coats, we bring
new forces up to speed so they too can desert or turn
their coats).

You see what I mean?

14. He will not
give a presentation that will suggest he and his bosses may have failed in their mission and which would ultimately relegate himself to the footnote role of commander of the large-scale withdrawal of troops from the most unnecessary and strategically largest U.S. foreign policy failure in history.
