Hillary Clinton is so often trashed on DU that it's hard to filter through it all and find any posts with straight out positive support for her. If you do support Hillary Clinton as your first choice for president, why do you? What do you like about her, why do you think she will make a great president?

training. The first day she is in office we will have a President that can send Bill out to every country in the world where he is loved to get our friends back and mend fences. Maybe then we can get some help in Iraq to end this mess. And she's smart.
ETA I know this is not a popular opinion here but it's mine and it's how I'll vote.

2. So are you supporting her or her husband? |
|
If he drops dead before the election, will you still vote for her?

3. Voting forHillary because of Bill????? |
|
During the Gulf War when Defense Secretary Cheney privatized our military, Clinton left it that way.
Clinton enacted the Iraqi Liberation Act of ‘98, laying the foundation for the mess we’re in today.
Clinton advised our democrats in the House and Senate to sign the Iraq Resolution, giving knuckleheaded Bush the power to go into Iraq.
It was Clinton’s Telecommunications Act of 1996 that consolidated the number of major media companies from around 80 to 6. Now our news is force-fed to us from corporate cronies.
And, it was Clinton who gave us NAFTA, which led to outsourcing our jobs overseas, which helped out Hillary’s ex-employer Wal-mart big-time.
The GOP wants Hillary to win in the Democratic primaries. They made no effort to unseat her in the '06 elections. If she lost her senate seat, -it would have stopped her in her tracks.
It's a given a Democrat will win in '08, I just hope it's not someone who acts like a republican. ....Hillary failed at fixing our healthcare system, then she took money from big pharmaceuticals.
We can't have anymore Clintons or Bushes in the White House!! They walk hand in hand in turning America over to Corporate America. Fortune magazine had Hillary on it's cover with the headline "Business Loves Hillary"...and Hillary admits she likes lobbyists.

4. She certainly comes across well in the debates. |
|
I came into the campaign concerned about her electability, and I still have those concerns. But in the debates, she consistently exhibits poise and maturity along with a solid knowledge of the issues and a sensible attitude. It's hard not to like her! Especially in comparison to titans like Myth Romney and Rude Giuliani.

6. So What Happens If Hillary Wins The Nomination? |
|
I'm just curious. Do you stay home? Vote third party? Do you stand by and let one's hatred of Hillary allow a Repugnican to win?

7. I think Malloy is right Hillary will get the nomination statistically... |
|
... I think it will come down to that Hillary is a woman, a fair bit of media hype. In the end her presidency might not work out that bad I imagine world opinion will shape the next president's term in office.

8. Hmmm, it'd be nice to hear a bit more |
|
There must be quite a disconnect between DU and the rest of the Democrats out there for a presidential poll front runner to generate so few responses.

9. I admire her because she's smart |
|
and she's a fighter.
I can't think of any person in public life, except perhaps for her husband, who was so viciously and constantly vilified by the Right for so long. Then, at the end of Bill's presidency, when anybody would've understood the desire to step away from public life for awhile, she did the opposite - she ran for the Senate in a difficult state and won.
She didn't give up - she kept fighting. And by all accounts, she's been a great Senator for New York, and was re-elected last year with 67% of the vote.
She's smart as a whip, incredibly competent, and I just like her on a personal level - I have ever since her "Tammy Wynette" line back in '92.
For 15 years on the national scene, she's driven conservatives absolutely bonkers, and the more they try to destroy her, the stronger she gets. I can't think of any other politician (again, except maybe her husband) who's been able to do that.
