I wonder how many activists are being harassed. |
|
Ever since I helped MoveOn premiere their book here, all my packages come pre-opened and obviously taped shut again. I've posted about this before with photos and DU mostly told me that stuff happens and there's no need to be concerned. But I think that's wrong. :(
Caveat: I'm not afraid. I'll just keep doing what I do. Just trying to notice what is happening.
Today, I received a bike I'd ordered and the box had obviously been cut open and sloppily taped shut again. What are the odds of every single one of your packages being re-taped like that?
You don't scare me at all, Special Agent Whoever. You are just sad. We are going to take our country back and I hope you can manage to be on the right side of this fight.

1. A lot of my mail comes here opened |
|
which is really funny, considering most of it is come-ons from groups asking for money they don't get. The only stuff that arrives intact are the credit card come-ons. Even my statements are opened.
I'm delighted I'm taking up somebody's time, keeping him gainfully employed and finding absolutely nothing.

5. What a horrible, boring job that must be. |

It could be worse. We could be them.

3. My internet at home went down yesterday |
|
So I went up to my local McDonald's with my laptop and checked my email and read a few things here. Then after about 30 minutes, no internet. So I went to a coffee shop nearby. Same deal. 20 minutes, no problem, then poof! no internet.
Sometimes my cell phone works, sometimes it doesn't. I got a new phone recently and a new number. It worked like a champ for 3 weeks. Now it cuts out, especially in my neighborhood.
Some days I get more mail than you can imagine. Then I might go 3 days and get no mail. Last week I got a thick envelope that had obviously been opened and then taped shut. It was postmarked August 8th, but I got it September 1st. And it had been mailed from right here in this city.
Doesn't scare me either. Really more annoying than scary.

8. Exactly. I don't want to start a panic but my mail comes opened. |
|
It was just more in my face today because it was a big package.
If this is about scaring off active people, it won't work.

9. Agree! But, ALL of my packages come pre-opened and have |
|
for about two years -- since I started publishing and working with MoveOn.
And, if someone is trying to send a message, I'm not hearing it. :)

7. Welcome to the 1980s. This has been happening since then. And, the PO won't do anything! |
|
No use complaining. Just get used to it and be happy that you are effective.

16. I do all my shopping on line with the exception of a weekly trip |
|
to the farmers' market. Maybe the volume trips something? Maybe someone thinks they can scare me but not you? What a waste of time. My al Qaida bike and sneakers and hand towels.

13. Ben Linder, shot in the head. Linda Frasier, killed at La Penca ..... count the journalists killed |
|
Political activism is a dangerous activity. At least, inside the USA, you are safe from blatant death squads.

14. You are obviously just a conspiracy theory nut-job with delusions of grandeur. There is no spying on |
|
Americans, there is no ruling-class, all is right in the nation and we are being kept safe from the evils of the world by the fine women and men of the Fatherland Security Forces.
Move along, nothing to see here.
Shouldn't be necessary, but...:sarcasm:
