Ok here is a suggestion
We tried the "surge/escalation" for nine months. So far to date 2007 has seen more deaths and injuries to both Iraqis and Americans than for the same period in 2006. It does not appear to be working at all. Let's try something completely different. Let's redeploy half of all US troops currently serving in Iraq to neighboring countries that will welcome them and give it nine months, with the troops ready for immediate re-deployment back into the area on a moments notice. I say the reduction in troops will reduce violence and the death rate among both Iraqis and Americans. I say American presence in Iraq is a main cause for strife. Reduce our presence and reduce the amount of strife. It would be very simple to prove either way.. Redeploy 80,000 troops before 2008 and see how it plays out....I think the Iraqi people would be so glad to see Americans withdraw they would make sure violence would decline, if only for that reason.... what do we have to lose?

2. I agree but one step at a time
First we must prove the other side wrong. That there will be no major blood bath if we re-deploy...

3. Why must we prove them wrong? They've been wrong about EVERYTHING
from the get-go. I'm sick of us having to take responsibility for the mistakes they take no responsibility for. :grr:

5. You can never have too many nails in a vampire's coffin. Proving them wrong (again)
would just be one more piece of evidence of their complete and total failure as a party.

Hit 'em with everything ya got, and don't stop til they're down for the count. They're dazed and reeling now, keep slamming them in the face with the truth!

6. They're 'dazed and reeling' now? Not from what I've been watching today.
Did I miss, or skip, a page?

7. I'm talking about the republic party in general. They've taken a lot of hits lately
Rove, Gonzo, Craig, Bob Allen, Hagel dropping out, Warner dropping out, ... yes, the party is reeling, although they're trying to put up a good front, imho....

:hi:

8. Good argument - with major diplomacy
I think we need a major diplomatic effort at the same time in order to have any chance of stabilization as we withdraw.
