Who is on the Senate Foreign Relation's Committee?
Our Congress people are pathetic! I hope the Dem's in the Senate have more balls than what I am seeing today.

1. It's lead by Joe Biden
He's not a Hell & Brimestone screamer but he's already stated that Petraeus has some explaining to do

8. I have it on but find it hard to pay attention.
Biden, Kerry, Boxer, Russ ---

Petreaus and Crocker better get a good nites rest, because tomorrow - they
are going to be grilled until they are well done.

Biden just came back from Iraq and he's pissed.
Kerry just met with the GAO, which gave this surge bad grades.

And we all know what Boxer and Russ are going to do.

Looking forward to it!

12. Don't blame Petraeus and Crocker
General Petraeus was given a job to do and, by his own account, he seems to have done it. It is vital to any assessment of the General's performance that the military not be confused with the political aims of this war. Generals Petraeus and Odierno, their staff officers and all of our fine men and women in uniform in Iraq have done an outstanding job under extremely daunting conditions, and they deserve nothing less than than the unreserved thanks and applause from a grateful nation. They also deserve to know when they can come home.

Ambassador Crocker's opening statement amounted to a whole-hearted endorsement of the plan for federalism advanced the very long-sighted Senator Joe Biden, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and one of our finest statesmen. Chairman Biden has been waging a one-man war to bring some common sense to this issue. And Ambassador Crocker's clear break with the Bush administration's views on this score, i.e. that Iraq can be governed from the center, shows him to be a man of personal integrity and someone worthy of our praise.

I say, Hooray for Ambassador Crocker. This nation is well served by his candor, backed by three decades of diplomatic experience. Federalism in Iraq is the way to go--the ONLY way to go, and we all need to get behind Senator Biden and give credit were it's due. We can salvage this and we must; and this will only be possible if we handle ourselves with dignity and responsibility. Our government did the wrong thing in starting this war. And now we need to make our voices heard as a unified people who speak as a government of the governed in bringing about the federal reforms in Iraq that will bring peace and prosperity to a nation in ruins.

13. Steve, whatcha smokin'? All Petraeus is doing is repeating the wh
talking points, kind of like a well-trained seal.

And Crocker claims more time is needed, but progress is being made. Are you even listening to this hearing? How long have we been told that? How long are you willing to wait to get our troops out of there?

How long do you think it will take for the Iraqis to form a unified government that will bring about federal reforms? Cause I'm thinking it will never happen due to the make-up of the country and the tribalism going on. I won't even get into the civil war and genocide.

But enjoy your little slice of your own reality there.
