CNN doesn't even try to pretend to be objective in criticism of MoveOn's Ad
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 04:41 PM by Exiled in America
I'm sitting here watching that worthless program "The Situation Room" and the guy on now is not even pretending to take a remotely objective look at MoveOn and its ad about Petraeus.

I'm not stating whether move on got it right or got it wrong. I'm just saying, he starts out his entire report not explaining both sides of the issue, but simply making an affirmative claim that move on was being fast and loose with its facts.

Every time he quoted from the ad, he slowed down on key words and emphasized them to underscore the "sinisterness" of what was being read. And he never explained what he was "rebutting" in the first place, or ever let us see the ad. He also, never explained the context of sentence-snippets he would quote and then "rebut" (without citing any sources himself) and at no point in the report was MoveOn ever presented with a chance to respond. The rebuttals to moveon's claims were weak at best. And the entire time the segment played the tag line read "Liberal Group in Hot Water"

I thought I was watching FOX News.

4. When they own the outlets, they can bend the information any way they want.
It's more subtle than taking over the state and nationalizing all the news outlets, but it can be just as effective.

and they are actively trying to undermine them.

21. Undermine blogs by behaving in the way that led to the empowerment of blogs in the first place.
Sounds like a good plan to me. I guess they are all still fighting over that conservative viewer.

16. That's true...they "discussed" the Swift Boat ads for several weeks/months...
Thereby, it was in the forefront of "news" for several weeks/months.

Karl Rove a genius? I hardly think so; When you have a complacent media, electronic "vote-flipping" machines, and five toadies on the Supreme Court, anyone can work wonders...
