Something is bothering me about this whole surge thing...what do you think? |
|
So we have a lot of troops in Iraq, people start calling for a pull out of troops.
Instead we send 30,000 more troops for a 'surge'.
And NOW we are discussing how soon (maybe next year) we are going to bring back just that 30,000 - while the original strength forces are not even really being discussed.
bush compromises, says 'ok, add that to the funding bill and we will bring em home' and he gets his funding, all the original troops, and we get back the 30,000 loaned for a surge.
If ya ask me, the whole surge thing was a shell game. Ask for more than you need - then compromise by bringing the excess back.
Both sides claim victory, and the people are still sitting there wondering what the hell just went down....

2. It's all about PROFIT - continued fleecing of our tax dollars by the Military Industrial Complex. |
|
Just simply: Follow the money and you will have all your answers as to why this is so damn critical, i.e., to continue the occupation of Iraq into oblivion.

4. Yep. Wrote this same thing a couple weeks ago. It's all total |
|
bullshit. Let's just hope the media keeps saying. No reduction - just reducing the ones added.
This is a total nightmare. It is just totally insane that one freakin lunatic can sway ALL the Repukes (save a precious few).
The saddest part. It's been 3-4 weeks since I updated my signature. Yikes 50 more poor souls have been killed.

Let's face it. If we did not have a war our economy would |
|
collapse. Our manufacturing industry depends on the manufacture of military equipment.

7. Pressure Republicans To Set A Deadline |
|
No, not ALL Democrats are accepting this 30,000 as troop withdrawal. The answer is with the centrist Republicans, like Snowe, Collins, Smith, Sununnu, Shays, - and the Blue Dogs.

8. Stop Buying ANYTHING from Corporate America. |
|
Tell them you your family, your friends, your neighbors will not buy ANOTHER GODDAMN THING until they end their support for this illegal war. Bango! Troops are home in 6 mos.
Christmas is coming up here in the US. Make a pledge that you will not buy any Xmas presents this year as this holiday is, allegedly, supposed to celebrate the *ahem* Prince of Peace, and you will not practice the Americanized version of this holiday by shopping while we are waging an illegal war. Bam! Hit em in the bank. Its the only thing they care about.

10. Two of best explanations I have heard |
|
Helps Republicans who are in trouble. Next summer, it will "look" like we are leaving which helps Republicans in their elections. GOP will not abandon Bush. Bush stretches things out so it falls to next President. "Iraq did not fail under Bush's watch" As long as we are there, we may not be winning but we are not LOSING. This is most important to GWB

11. troops come home from M.E. = Bush no super powers |
|
You know all those neat super powers he has as a WAR president, you know like unlimited power becuz he's the commander guy, well, that would all go away, if peace broke out. Do you think Bush is going to let the war end and lose his super powers, no way.
