Will world opinion of the U.S. change once Bush/Cheney leave office? |
|
Just by the fact that those particular two people will no longer be in power?

The people who really hated us as a people did so for their own reasons. The people who were troubled may be somewhat comforted. There really isn't any thing like "world opinion", but what exists will probably amount to the same reaction. Our avid enemies hated us for reasons entirely apart from who we are. And just so, the hawks in Europe that cheered us on will return to sneering at our dovishness. Everyone else will fall into some area in the middle.
I think Americans need to start worrying about our relationship with ourselves first of all. Once we get that sorted out, then we can unify enough to stop this cold civil war going on in this country, and rebuild any bridges left damaged to the rest of the world.

If we elect a Dem, we can start healing our reputation. If we elect another Repug, we're toast. :(

America has been in the depths of insanity for the last seven years. Recovery will be slow in coming.

6. I doubt it too, especially if we let them get away with the monumental crimes they |
|
have committed without even an attempt at bringing them to justice.
The world will suffer for generations from the misery we've caused, I don't think they will forget, nor forgive, quickly.
BTW: the effects of what we have wrought are just now beginning to be felt here, we have a long way to fall before we hit the ground.

8. No. In Europe and other parts, all they read about is we elected Bush...TWICE. |
|
That's what they read, and that's what they remember. They've crossed the point where they no longer trust who we elect here in the States.
