Imaine you are sitting on a toilet in a public men's room
taking care of business, using the stall for its "intended use."

You happen to have a "wide stance" and your foot is in the next stall.

You get arrested. You know that you have done nothing wrong, you have no idea what the officer is talking about. Would you then agree to plead guilty just so that "this" will go away?

You are a United States Senator, for heaven's sake! You are not intimidated by police officers, are you?

And this, I think, is the bottom line. Not about privacy, or about trap, or about police can do other things comment. It is about the plain fact that you pleaded guilty just so that "this would go away." Most of us would not, if all we did was crapping.

8. NO. Let's beat it some more. Let's beat into a liquified pulp in fact, just to prove a point.
Beat it. Liquify it.

And hope beyond hope that we don't have Sen's or Rep's who are stupid enough to get caught doing the same thing.

4. There is no indication that Craig was using it for it's intended purpose
The police report states emphatically that Craig did not flush, and nowhere in the report was there any indication that Craig had dropped his pants or performed any bodily function associated with a toilet stall.

And the mystery hand swipe is the killer. You don't do that in a men's room. And reaching across your body to wipe the right wall with your left hand is far from a casual or even easy gesture. There's a lot of stretching involved!

You are right on here: It is about the plain fact that you pleaded guilty just so that "this would go away." Most of us would not, if all we did was crapping.

Nobody wants that on their record. What if you have to register as a sexual predator!?!?!?

5. I think we need an investigation of airplanes without working lavatories.
Edited on Tue Sep-11-07 12:42 AM by TahitiNut
Imagine the horror of having to make a connecting flight after flying in a plane without a working toilet!!

Imagine the need to defecate so bad that waiting for the connecting flight was unthinkable. And it's probably broken, too!

Imagine the horror of having to bypass the restrooms on the concourse and go allll the way out to the ticket lobby!!

Poor guy. :nopity:

6. if for some odd reason he's allowed to withdraw his plea..
...Hennepin County will take the case to trial, which would be more ruinous than pleading guilty in the first place.

....a prosecutor is going to warn him: "We'll call the other 40 we stung to testify that they did the same things you did with the anticipation of some anonymous sex. they will testify in great detail, one after the other. Now, are you SURE you want to withdraw your plea?"
