Waiter foils carjacking of woman, then gets fired
FORT LAUDERDALE - As the lunch rush started Monday, waiter Juan Canales stopped a carjacker from taking a woman's Honda CRV out of the parking lot where he worked.

Hours later he lost his job.

2. Lets hope this story generates a few job offers for this guy.
I don't know what backstory there may be here,
but, on the face of it, it sounds like his boss
was a real douchebag. I hope Mr. Canales ends up
somewhere better.

3. His former boss was a moron...
He was upset about all the attention the scuffle generated? Attention that would have been good for his business?

Really, really stupid of him.

6. I'd have to say that someone that doesn't want GOOD press
has something to hide.
Could it be immigration violations?
Just spitballing here.

10. And hopefully a better one. I can't imagine how a guy supports a wife and three
kids on what he makes waiting tables at a Thai restaurant. Even if she works too, that's got to be tough.

8. Couldn't be helped - his cape wasn't meeting US Dept of Health standards.
And the tights were just, well, distracting.

I read that 96% of Florida restaraunts have had at least one code violation... But keep in mind it doesn't take much of a violation to get cited, as it should be, when the public's health is at stake...
