I'm without speech.

I can't begin to tell you how much this pisses me off.

From www.msnbc.com

This must be the ten reason given for staying/going/being in Iraq. They have no shame.

1. So now Iraq is a "Protectorate"?
Where have I seen this rationalization before? Of course if I specify someone will invoke Godwin's Law on me.

2. You Have to Admit That It's A Brand New Concept
The article indicates that Petraeus has proposed a revolutionary concept - as the Iraqis are better able to provide for their own security, we can withdraw gradually. Sort of "We'll stand down as they stand up". It's brand-new - I've never heard of it before - but it just might work.

14. Yeah. Sure.
Will it give us enough time to steal all their oil?

And set up permanent military bases?

Little wonder 57 percent of the Iraqi people think it's all right to kill us.

people in the testing room is the "new mission" -- there are never any new missions, there is just new propaganda.

Already the number of Iraqi prisoners has increased from 6,000 in 2004 to 60,000 in 2007 with an increase of 50 per cent in the number of Iraqi prisoners held in US military jails during the "surge".

12. Protecting Iraqis from THEMSELVES. America -- the ultimate enabler
Edited on Tue Sep-11-07 08:19 AM by Fly by night
Enabling Iraqis to depopulate their country fast

Enabling terrorists to attend a graduate course in IEDing what's left of our military

Enabling Halliburton and the many other multi-thousands of Rethug contractors to get rich

Enabling Cheney to train his Blackwater army before they start "protecting" Americans from ourselves

Enabling the corporate media to keep sucking Bush's ass (without the privacy of a bathroom stall)

Enabling faint-hearted Democrats to accept yet one more "just one more time" promise from our Practicing Alcoholic-In-Chief

Enabling the dissolution of our own government through arrogance, ignorance, impotence and ennui.

America -- what we need is a "false patriotism and futile gestures"-anon.

Because this American is getting mighty restless, irritable and discontent at this moment. And when enough of us fall off the "just let the system work" wagon, there will be hell to pay.

At that moment, Bush will bring this war home, and the "enemy" will look a whole lot like us.
