How did Congressional Democrats allow these hearings to take place THIS WEEK? |
|
democrats control the agenda if nothing else.
this 'highly charged' week of 9/11 is certainly NOT the week to discuss Iraq,
it puts the two in the same context....procedural fuck-up

it would have required some testicles to say no to the bush regime and ask for a date change.

haven't figured out how to do the spin. Most Democrats will blindly follow along mumbling the mantra of "We have no other choice. We have no other choice." The Democratic Party is trying to decide how to market their new image - "The Competent Republicans"...

4. I just woke up on West Coast and am watching 9/11 tributes |

And Peter Pace's comments that we will fight the enemy in the name of 9/11 killed really irks me.
What a great boon to the Bush Regime to have the Iraqi Petraeus "reports" begin the day before 9/11 remembrances.
Here on the West Coast many people are still sleeping. It is like there are two United States...the east coast and the rest of us. So when we wake up all sorts of things are going on in the East United States!

7. Very good question, was wondering the same thing. Goes to show |

you the competence of this dem leadership. They are totally unbelievable. They have yet to take the reins of the congressional leadership and lead. I agree with many comments of how they are "totally scared of their own shadow" afraid to do anything.

9. It was the Democratic-controlled House and Senate who legally mandated the timetable. |
|
Last May when they passed (after craphead vetoed their attempts to stop funding the war) the requested funds, they specified that Petraeus had to report back by September 15 at the latest. September 15 is a Saturday; the Jewish high holiday of Rosh Hashanah begins tomorrow evening. As a result, the 10th and the 11th were the only dates that worked.
Nothing mysterious here.
