Petraeus.
I thought in the months leading up the the Petraeus report that it was simply wierd that Bush and the media spoke his name with such reverence as if the General himself was widely known to the American people as the paragon of truth and virtue. To tell you the truth, before this event, I was aware that there was a General named Petraeus (the name kinda sticks out), but I hadn't heard much about him. But they kept touting the anticipated Petraeus report as if it were the definitive information that would end all debate about the situation in Iraq. I just don't get it.

They did the same thing with Colin Powell at the start of the war. But Colin Powell was well known outside military circles. Did the Bush administration simply run out of credible sources of information.

I wish we could feel confident when we hear words straight from the president's mouth rather than having the president looking for credible mouthpeices to disseminate incredible reports.

2. PETRAEUS!
PETRAEUS!

The most beautiful sound we ever heard:
Petraeus, Petraeus, Petraeus, Petraeus.
All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word:
Petraeus, Petraeus, Petraeus, Petraeus, Petraeus, Petraeus.

Petraeus, We've just met a boy named Petraeus,
and suddenly the war will never be the same you see.
Petraeus! We've just kissed the ass of Petraeus.
And suddenly we've found how wonderful a lie can be.
Petraeus, we believe everything he's saying.
And our bleeting sounds almost like braying,
Betray us, we never stop saying: "Betray us!"
