moveon.org, an independent liberal organization, uses "Betray Us"
The Republican spin machine goes to work and even members of DU fall for it, condemning such "name calling", calling it "childish" and "detrimental to the cause".

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the neo conservative Bush-bot on ABC's "The View", strongly attacks the ad, saying that moveon is "using the very free speech that General Petraeus provides them to attack him". Meanwhile, the other cohosts, as well as the rest of the media, (except for Bill Maher) fails to point out that THE WHITE HOUSE WROTE THE REPORT.

Other Republican shills in the media continue to pound it out there. What a horrible thing for moveon.org to do!

Three years ago, The Republican Party, condoned this at the Republican convention:

1. We should thank the good General for providing all that free speech
I knew those young men and women in Iraq were dying for something. I just knew it.

4. They're dying for corporate fascism.
Pat Tillman understood that, until he was murdered.

2. memo to conservatives:
our military are not the ones who grant us freedom of speech. if anything, they're the ones most likely to take it away.

doesn't take much for you to pull out the spectre of fascism, does it?

6. Petraeus has never been anything but a talking mouthpiece for Bush.
No doubt his report and answers yesterday were carefully rehearsed and cleared through the White House. In the face of all the independent reports that say the surge isn't working, and in spite of all the facts that prove we aren't winning the war in Iraq, I don't see how Petraeus could be anything but a shill for Bush.

This is overlooking the fact that we had no business going into Iraq in the first place, and that's what it all boils down to with me. We shouldn't have gone in, and we shouldn't be there now. So what's the problem with pulling the troops out? Iraq has a government in place, let them govern.

7. Why is it
The republicans use all kinds of negative ads against the democrats. Accusing them of being terrorists, that they are un-American...but every time an ad comes out that is negative, because it tells the TRUTH......they start to mess them selves.

9. The repukes are better at it
And we should get better at it too. Framing counts. MoveOn's ad was a lousy frame.
