Each party has two bases.....
One for votes, one for money.

In the GOP the money base and voter base sit in the same pews.

Unfortunately for the Democrats the base with the money doesn't like the base without...

The Dem voter base are peacnik-moonbats that want to take the money and war out of the political picture.

See the problem?

2. On some issues, like immigration, the GOP bases sit on different
sides of the church.

4. I disagree - there are three bases, one of them is shared
You figure out which one we share, money or popular vote.

5. The two GOP bases do NOT sit in the same pews.
Edited on Tue Sep-11-07 12:15 PM by iamahaingttta
One sits firmly in the church of the Almighty Dollar.
The other sits in the church of the Insane Jesus.
The former laugh at and exploit the latter.
The latter are too stupid to notice.

7. I disagree with your GOP assessment.
The Republican voting base and their money base couldn't be any further in disagreement when it comes to immigration.

8. Dem leaders envy the GOP
The GOP base is malleable, slavish, easily led by right wing religion, party propaganda and scare tactics.

The Dem base is more skeptical, better educated, well versed and interested in a wide range of issues and expects more of its party and candidates. We're too damn smart for our own good.

Dem leaders would much prefer having supporters who are knee jerk reactionaries to a few irrelevant issues and who will follow them blindly if they mutter a few promises about prescription drugs for seniors and gun rights.

9. Two parties, One Power. Simple as that.
