Regardless of Politics, It's Eerie in Lower Manhattan Today |
|
It's started pouring rain, and the people are filing out of the WTC site with umbrellas. It's been beautiful and sunny all week, and suddenly there's a thunderstorm. I remember the first anniversary, when there was this strange, powerful wind swirling around Manhattan. Today's just as weird.

2. I remember that wind. It was creepy. |

Didn't it start just before the ceremony was about to begin? All of a sudden, there was a strong, swirling wind whipping through Ground Zero. Very odd.

It's a good thing that the ceremonies are just about over.

4. I listened to the ceremony |
|
outside my office window.
The sheets of rain and burst of rolling thunder started not long after the politicos. It was almost like the Gods were chastising us.

5. Daughter is there today |
|
She went for a job interview in the Bronx (teacher) and took the subway downtown to go see the site again. Last time we were there was February 2002.
