per CNN:
President Bush will tell the nation this week he plans to reduce the American troop presence in Iraq by about 30,000 by next summer, but will condition those and further cuts on continued progress, The Associated Press has learned.
In a primetime television address, probably Thursday, Bush will endorse the recommendations of his top general and top diplomat in Iraq, following their appearance at two days of hearings in Congress, administration officials said.

So Shrub will follow the recommendation of his "top general and top diplomat"...
What about the recommendation of the vast majority of the American people?!!!
How many more lives will be lost over the next year while we wait and see if 30K soldiers will be coming home next summer???
I know fine DUers, WE GET IT --- but how much longer will a vocal minority and arrogant decider run a reckless war into the ground that you, I, our children and our children's children will be paying for long after the idiot from Texas hits the history books as the supreme example representing abuse of the Executive Branch of our government?
By the people and for the people right? I remain utterly amazed that the party in power on The Hill seems impotent to give the government back to the people who elected them.
It should not be up to a misguided president to make an independent decision (to wage an endlessly stupid and tragic war) based on the words of two puppets on a string! What is happening to our democracy???
