My immediate reaction after I seen the news of planes slamming the WTC back in '01

I made a short note on events for reference later. I did not anticipate the level of chauvinist hysteria that came in the aftermath. Now I know better.

But like you, I wasn't particularly surprised, at least not nearly so much as my fellow Americans.
