emphasized more. I'm very serious. They were, in so many ways, lied into a war. There are many good people who were convinced erroneously about this. I've made mistakes throughout my life, but from no one with the creds these people had.
And yea, there are so many DUers, senators, etc., who knew better. I know all about them.

7. I have a hard time believing a jury would be deceived by such lies. |

... except the ones who'd sleep through a trial. (Which is what 70% of the public did.) To the degree I think it's possible is part of why I'm against the death penalty. But the fact of the matter is that there was little to no attention paid by those who voted 'yea' to the VERY obvious fictions being peddled. In MY opinion, those who voted 'Yea' were either cowards or corrupt ... cowards afraid of being pilloried at the polls and never being able to say "I told you so," and corrupt insofar as not really caring whether it was a fraud - and wanting the power and wealth such an invasion and occupation would bring (e.g. Halliburton, et. al.).
Then again, I was never deluded into thinking the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan was primarily about Bin Laden. I knew about the pipeline. I knew about global corporatism's strategic interest in Afghanistan.
So, I think it's LESS about what the Senators and Representatives knew and more about (1) covering their political butts, and (2) 'war as a racket' motives.

8. I know we are politically close, but I really think some good people |

were put into a room and shown some very scary things. That's the only explanation I can come up with. So now (tomorrow) it behooves me to find out who was on the committee that saw that stuff.
And for the record, I believed this admin, but I was a neophyte. I have learned SO much to the disgust of many people.
