Wow!!! Bush is bringing 30,000 troops home.
That's what all the news stations are saying today. Looks like Bush got his headlines.

3. The 30,000 was the extra surge that we sent in earlier this year.
But, what the hell, he got his headlines...

2. Thanks to those Republicans who want to stop the war!

The headlines have been quite depressing in their looking like nothing more than RNC press releases...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070911/ap_on_go_co/us_iraq

Republicans sharply question Iraq policy

WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans sharply challenged President Bush's top military general and ambassador in Iraq on Tuesday in a sign that some within the GOP retain serious misgivings about the protracted war.

"Are we going to continue to invest blood and treasure at the same rate we're doing now? For what?" asked Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., who supports legislation setting a deadline to bring troops home."

Ahhh - those Democrats can't do anything - thank God for the Republicans - THEY'LL bring our troops home!

I mean, the story should have been, "Republicans try to look like Democrats while trying to back-peddle their way out of their record of consistent support for Bush's mess in Iraq. Republican Senators, fearing that the public backlash against the quagmire in Iraq, will threaten their chances come next election begin to take on a new tone in Washington as they get in line to start sounding more like Democrats and less than the lockstep Bush supporters as they take this opportunity to begin to question the Iraq report...."

Edited on Wed Sep-12-07 06:04 AM by Gman
up the troops, 30,000 so you can bring home 30,000 a year later. Then, in the election year, claim you're winding down the war when, in actuality, you're at the troop levels Rumsfeld said was where it needed to be 2 years earlier.

They have now been trained und conditioned adequately to whack civilians and can now be deployed in the homeland to suppress civilian unrest (as if there would be any)

7. They must think that we all are a bunch of idiots and fools
that we can't see through this disception or we can't think for ourselves like so many republicans can't. This clown in the WH is stalling so that the congress won't attempt to impeach his ass if he stops this insane occupation this year.

10. What a stupid move
He either brings all of them home or maintains the levels needed.

Those left in Iraq would soon feel the lack of the shoulder of that guy "next-to-you".

Unless they are planning to sit out the rest of Iraq occupation on the bases.

17. Call your reps and senators and tell them not to give
the * Crime Family 6 months more for this needless death and destruction of our troops and iraqi civilians, 6 more months for what??? now is our time to fight back even harder, they need to stop funding this invasion, and to stop caving into Bush's whims.

24. I luv him,
if the generals wouldn't have needed the troops, he wouldn't have sent them, I watched every speechifying event and he fought tooth and nail to keep more troops from being deployed, wounded, or killed. * only has the troops best interests at heart. Him and laura even said so somewhere or other.

sarcastically loaded post here.
