Don't blink now - this is a pissing contest for the soul of our
country. Nothing less.

Our forefathers died so that we could live and do the right thing.

And as every generation has its own tribulations - so do we - right now - right here.

This has become about the survival of our country and our way of life. It has become that.

Maybe some of our democratic brethren in congress do not have what it takes to stand and fight.

Maybe.

But we do. This is our country and we are not going "gently into the night"

No blinking.

Joe

1. Joe, I'm in agony over this war. What else can we do?

4. Well for starters, support a soldier.
Think about what our men and women in uniform have to deal with over there. They could use some reassurance from their civilian brothers that even though we don't support this war, we support our men and women in uniform.

They need our help more than anyone. What they're going through is hell.

24. They are alone and some of them are scared -
Send them packages and letters and let them know we are trying our best for them.

Let them know we are trying - that is the important thing.

6. Pressure will be great soon to blink - for those people we put into
this congress. I don't think they are that strong. Don't allow it. Don't let them fold and sell out.

Speak out - call it as it is - call them on it every time you see a sell out - every single time.

That is the best any of us can do. It is the least we can do.

Joe

10. Please be brave and put a sign in your yard that says, bring them
home or whatever message you feel expresses your agony. Be prepared to be arrested for very amazing charges ie. owi, and other fun things. It may make your agony seem less important if you start speaking for those soldiers that have no voice.

5. Just out of curiosity...
what the heck is an ellipse?

I am being serious, here (I was never able to attend any school and there are a lot of things that I am totally unaware of, especially when it comes to grammatical and written language).

14. an ellipsis
is the three dots used after a phrase to indicate either that there's more to follow, or that something was ommitted.

Like...

above.

Ellipses is the plural ellipsis. So more than one set of three dots would be ellipses.

An ellipse is a elongated circle.

16. Thanks. Heck, I use those all the time.
I did not know there was a name for something I have always called "dot, dot, dot".

Live and learn.

Oh, yeah. "Ellipse" was a typo. I know a good bit about geometric shapes. Or at least I know what I have not forgotten.

Again, thanks for the explanation.

Tom

3. I'm with you Joe.

I'd hate to hear the forefathers express their opinion of how their country has evolved since its birth.

11. I'm Already Angry.
I'm angry what is happening to my beloved country, what is happening to all the young adults that are dying in Iraq, angry that there really is global warming, and just plain angry about a war that should never have started. And especially angry with the stupid administration that got us into it under false pretenses. That angry enough???

12. Use it.
Use anger - make it pay.

We have so many friends in this - this war - and there is NO logical reason that we shouldn't stand as one and in one voice say "Fuck You" - NO MORE!!

13. There Is A Problem
The people I fought for to get into office last November left their spines in Michigan! Maybe I should package them up for them.

think that is the reason their head is where it is?

19. In the primaries, we should vote for a new kind of politics, not the same thing.
If we continue to vote the same types of people in office, we will always get the same result. Lets make a vote for the people not the corporations and their friends who are destroying our country.

In order to get change, we need to change some of our flawed choices.
