Be afraid. Be very afraid. Al-Qaida has revived, spread and is capable of a spectacular

Al-Qaida has revived, extended its influence, and has the capacity to carry out a spectacular strike similar to the September 11 attacks on America, one of the world's leading security thinktanks warned yesterday.

There is increasing evidence "that 'core' al-Qaida is proving adaptable and resilient, and has retained an ability to plan and coordinate large-scale attacks in the western world despite the attrition it has suffered", said the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). "The threat from Islamist terrorism remains as high as ever, and looks set to get worse," it added.

Old news.
But buried at the bottom is what we should REALLY be fearful of:

Climate change was also identified by the institute as a huge threat to global security. "Even if the international community succeeds in adopting comprehensive and effective measures to mitigate climate change, there will still be unavoidable impacts from global warming on the environment, economies and human security," said the report.

The report said the effects of the predicted rise in global temperatures due to the burning of fossil fuels would cause a host of problems including rising sea levels, forced migration, freak storms, droughts, floods, extinctions, wildfires, disease epidemics, crop failures and famine.

1. I'm more afraid of illness since I'm nearing
the twentieth anniversary of being declared uninsurable.

I'm more afraid of getting hurt in a traffic accident, same reason.

I'm more afraid that Stupid won't leave office in 2009, since he's the worst terrorist on the planet.

I'm afraid of what is going to happen when millions of people start to lose their homes and the ripple effect spreads out and more people start losing their jobs.

I'm afraid that the rich will not release their stranglehold on this country and will proceed until we all really are their slaves.

I'm afraid the American experiment with a constitutional republic with democratically chosen representation is at an end.

Al Qaeda? I'm sorry, but in comparison to all of this, they don't frighten me a bit.

3. Give me a fucking break---we will hit the lottery ten times in a row before

99.99999999999% of any of the 303 million American people will ever die at the hands of your culprits....what percentage of the American people was it on 9/11 that died....let me give some exaggerated but just as meaningless of figures.....that it can actually be you or me. .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
000000000000000001% ???

If a hit going to happen, it's going to happen, to help the fascist in control of our country, just as it did last time.

If it's is going to happen the odds of it being me or anyone else are astronomical....If by some strange reason they come to my town, out of all the tens of thousands of towns, and to an exact area where I might be strolling along and I just happen to be exactly in the tiny area at that time of all the tens of millions of other areas...well then I go. Big deal! I'm not planning on living forever and while here certainly NOT in fear....when it's the most remote chance it will happen to what 3K more people somewhere....maybe?

Only people who believe Bush' conspiracy theory on 9/11 will be living in fear....why would anyone believe Bush's conspiracy theory on 9/11 when Bush has lied about everything else and the attack has benefited his fascism that could NEVER of occurred without the 9/11 attack.

Your, "Be afraid. Be very afraid." bullshit comes from watching television for your news and thinking about what they told you and not scrutinizing your own mind about these criminals and how diabolical, sick & greedy is their intentions.

7. I know it's hyperbole, but I decided to do some quick math for fun.
Your first figure implies that 3.03 × 10-12, or three-one-trillionths of an American will be killed by terrorism. Your second suggests there are two billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion billion Americans. This would be roughly a billion billion billion billion billion billion billion times more Americans than exist atoms in the universe.

Doesn't mean anything, just having fun with big numbers.
:hi:
