What would you do if Al Gore is on your Primary ballot?
...even though he is still an undeclared candidate?

There is growing momentum around the country to get enough signatures to place Al's name on Democratic Primary ballots state by state. The logic here is two-fold; ideally, if Al were to achieve victories around the nation in the Dem primaries - he may be convinced to run. Secondly, even if Al did not enter the race, Gore delegates could still represent his platform (or philosophy) and at least help shape the Democratic agenda.

An example of said movement can be found here from Massachusetts:

http://www.mass4gore.com/2008/

I'm not sure the logic in all this is sound (not being a political science major) but it is intriguing. I know there is a similar initiative in California and in my home state of Washington as well. It's a tough one, because I'm not inclined to vote for a candidate that has not even declared. On the flip side, Al Gore would be my first choice over anyone currently in the Dem field ---by a wide and enthusiastic margin--- and if I felt that by voting for him it may induce him to RUN; I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

QUESTION: If you found Al Gore's name on your state ballot, what would you do?

2. Vote for Edwards
Gore blew his first and second chances. He's not cut out for it, and he admitted it.

6. I would still vote for Kucinich unless Gore is a declared and enthusiastic...
...candidate, and maybe even still-- DK's message NEEDS to be heard and taken seriously. That said, if Gore announces his candidacy there will be TWO democratic candidates I can support.

11. If Gore hasn't entered the race by his own admission, then I might pick Kucinich or Clinton
It depends on who all is on the ballot and what happens between now and then. I like Gore, I really really do, but I don't think he needs to be President to have a major effect on this country. If Gore has entered officially, then I'd be inclined to pick him.

23. You’re kidding right?
If Clinton went any further to the right she would be a Republican who is more concerned with preserving the status Quo, many people (I for one) will argue she is already there.

If Kucinich were any farther to left he would be a decent, honest and truthful human being that cares about people, many people (I for One) will argue he is already there.

No other democratic candidate compares to Kucinich when it comes to issues Especially Clinton.

What could possible be the criteria you use to choose a favorite candidate? Do I go to the right or do I go to the left? Decisions decisions, we have been going to the right ever since the right assassinated JFK. This country is in a desperate need to go to the left; this country is in a desperate need for some one like Dennis Kucinich.

27. No, I'm not kidding. I'm considering many factors and one reason Clinton
is still high with me because of women and children's rights issues, such as choice, education and health care.

I think Clinton is too far in deep with corporate interests, as is probably the case with most of those at the top of the polls in the Dem (and Rep) race. I really don't like that.

It's time to really push and support leaders outside of politics. On the local and national level. I believe that is where the real change is to be made. In the meantime, having a (first) woman President who is vested in more issues that I care about has the potential to change the landscape of this country in a way no other candidate can right now. Except maybe Obama (but that's another post).

13. If he hasn't declared by March
when my primary is, no way in hell would I vote for him. In fact, if he's not declared, I wouldn't vote for him. Either he gets into the fray like everyone else, or he doesn't. One thing he doesn't get from me, is an automatic vote without hearing his positions.

anything like that will split the vote against a front-runner. If your second choice has a chance to take the state, then don't vote for Al. If you can live with the other front-runners, or can't stand any of them, then what the hell - vote for whoever. If he hasn't declared, he won't win - he'd just be a protest vote anyways.

Because I think he's head and shoulders over anyone in the race who is not named Kucinich and can win the general against any of the Republican bozos.

28. Doing that against his will is arrogant
Unless he changes his thoughts and states he is running and wants it, I think all such efforts to push him are unfair to his mission now regarding addressing the cliamte crisis his way and will only denegrate the credibility and momentum he has gained on it. It is almost as if people are stating he doesn't know what he is doing or how to do it. Again, if HE states emphatically that he wants to go back to that system now and does it that is one thing, but to push him like this just because of a particular political agenda he is being used for is in my eyes not fair to him.
