Alfonso Cuarón, director of Children of Men, and Naomi Klein, author of No Logo, present a short film from Klein’s book The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism. An essay adapted from the book will appear in October’s Harper’s Magazine and is available on the web now.

1. Very important work.

It is interesting to note that there have been multiple threads in the past at DU where some have discussed Reaction Based Change or Crisis Based Change.

And then the short film spells it out; "Only a crisis, actual or perceived, produces real change."

This book will be a must read.

and I will try and think of other ways to get the word out...I may order a few copies for christmas.

I sent the link to several suspected wingers who are on the fence and starting to wake up. A slow trickle seems to be working. To much information, or CT stuff just pisses them off, but, respectful discourse...you would be amazed at what I can get away with.
