Spineless Dems Block CIA Nominee
Members of the Senate intelligence committee have requested the withdrawal of the Bush administration's choice for CIA general counsel, acknowledging that John Rizzo's nomination has stalled because of concerns about his views on the treatment of terrorism suspects.

The decision followed a private meeting this week in which committee leaders concluded that the troubled nomination could not overcome opposition among Democratic members. It comes less than a month after a key member, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), announced his intention to block the nomination indefinitely.

Rizzo, a career CIA lawyer, has drawn fire from Democrats and human rights groups because of his support for Bush administration legal doctrines permitting "enhanced interrogation" of terrorism detainees in CIA custody.

Two U.S. officials familiar with the committee's decision said the request for Rizzo's withdrawal has been conveyed to Gen. Michael Hayden, the CIA's director. The officials, who insisted on anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the committee's discussions, said lawmakers had hoped to avoid the formality of a negative vote on Rizzo's nomination out of respect for his long service at the intelligence agency. Rizzo has served with the CIA since 1976 and acted as interim general counsel from 2001 to 2002 and from August 2004 to the present

What a bunch of DINO, DLC, repub lite, corporatist wimps. The elections obviously made absolutely no difference. We'd have been better off if Webb had lost.

(Cali -- loved your post.Have I missed anything?)

7. I've love to see a pre-approved list for Bush to make his pick from...
Simply tell him if it's not on the menu, it's not being served. Subpoenas, on the other hand, are served up fresh all session....

8. So? Have they brought impeachment up? Have the questioned
the administration on whether or not they plan to start another war? What about funding for the ones we're already losing? What are they gonna do about that? Have they told bush** that they want a firm committment (like the rest of the country) on withdrawal?

What about the Teamsters vs. Mexican truckers? Who do they support?

What about this latest Osama shit? Not one phony video, but two. Have they said anything about that?

I am still not impressed. The country cannot afford the two wars we have now. Not in blood or money. And they're sitting still for the same bullshit lies that got us into them. Only this time they're gunning for Iran.

We are still being spied on, are we not? And that was with the help and complicity of these same dems.

Again, I am not impressed when they do something that they're being paid for. Especially since the really big shit that this administration does to us, to the Iraqi people, to the world they let slide.

13. Oh don't give me that shit. If you have appendicitis you don't
take a friggin' aspirin and call it done. You get the problem FIXED. You do what you need.

If you have a limb rotting away from gangrene, you get clear out the infection.

If your house is burning down you don't get out the garden hose.

Get real. You take care of the big shit FIRST. Then you worry about the rest.

12. Chronic malcontents
There will always be those who will never be happy and even when given what they asked for, will create a new set of criteria just so they will have something to bitch about. An over the horizon force is what Murtha and Dems ran on, but now a new goal has been set up so even if we got Murtha's plan, the left would still call it a failure. Funny how Republicans are the ones who started talking about defunding first. Divide and conquer, they've succeeded again.

innocent people if not directly then indirectly because of the war that we are LOSING.

If you call anyone who thinks that they need to take care of the country's most serious problems and quit pretending like they're doing what they were elected to do, then I have to tell you I stand with the majority of this country.

edit: let me direct you attention to an article you really need to read.

Malcontent my ass.
