Whether you actually want Rudy Giuliani in your living room is between you and your significant other. But his campaign would like to put him there.

Giuliani's campaign is asking his supporters to host small parties on "National House Party Night" Sept. 26 to provide small gatherings where small sums of money are collected. As his campaign says, you may give $25, $50, or $100 (or, of course, the federal limit of $2,300, but that's only if you've got it on you). As a reward, the campaign will pipe Giuliani into your home via a live webcast. :puke:

You can even purchase a Rudy "Party Pack," with cups, bumper stickers and yard signs featuring the Rudy logo. (Yankee cap and Judith Nathan sold separately.) :yoiks:

Washington, as you might imagine, is a key strategic locus for House Party Night, given that people here have similar parties in their spare time, the line between work and leisure in D.C. being a tragically narrow one.

Hosting Giuliani's party in Washington is Gideon Lett, who has served as a campaign adviser to former Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) and Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), two politicians who, among other things, are well-known for their pro-gun and anti-abortion stances. As mayor of New York, Giuliani, of course, supported abortion rights and gun control.

Lett is also a former spokesman for the Independent Petroleum Association of America, an oil and natural gas lobby group, and now works for the National Association of Home Builders, the powerful housing trade association.
