Is repetition of the phrase "Al Que ada in Iraq" bothering anyone?
Is it just me, or does the constant repetition of the phrase "Al Queada in Iraq" by the media and war supporters smack of revisionist history in the making? I've noticed this term being used as a rather fuzzy way of associating 9/11 with the war in Iraq.

The thing that irks me is how those who use this term never seem to clarify that "Al Queada in Iraq" is, in reality, a result of the war and not a cause of it.

1. Cause and effect
They are there, assuming any reference to them not being a complete fairy tale, as a direct result of the invasion. There are references to my knowledge of any such named organistaion prior to the invasion especially as Saddam was anti that bunch.

4. As I remember it...
I may have missed something but...after the U.S. invasion there were some unnamed "terrists" roaming around in Iraq killing and maiming and raising hell. Eventually they got around to calling themselves "al Qaeda in Iraq" but there was no immediate acknowledgement from the "real" al Qaeda in Pakistan/Afghanistan. It was like the real terrists weren't sure they wanted to claim this band of thugs in Iraq but eventually they did.

5. What bothers me is that Bush makes AQI out to be the major force we are fighting in Iraq
In reality, most estimates say that it's only about 2-3% of who we are fighting.

Wikipedia has an article on the Iraq insurgency that lists over 40 armed groups that are causing trouble:
