22. I would rather have seen the ad after the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th or 7th speech on the war?
I think its great timing for a political campaign but horrible timing when it comes to the war? They said this is the 8th address bush has done on the war and to do during a campaign year it loses some credibility with me. It was a good commercial, he made great points but it would go over better if he didn't give bush the power to go to war in the first place and if he would have taken the political heat and not funded the war at all. I think all of the candidates except Kucinich, gave bush the power and continued to fund the war because they were afraid they would look bad and lose political strength. I appreciate Dennis Kucinichs ability to vote for what he felt what right in his heart and not play political maneuvering games with our soldiers lives. I know you all will be angry at my comments but after watching chimpy lie to America, I have to put some blame and blood on the hands that enabled the idiot to kill people for money.

I will vote for no one that plays political games when Americans lives are at stake, I don't want the blood on my hands.

7. Whatever George Bush would have us believe ...

Now that's a nice little tag ...

The question of Iraq is separate from September 11th, as it always has been, whatever George Bush would have us believe ...

8. My take on this, even before he speaks .......
..... this is a campaign commercial, not a rebuttal. Why do I say that? Because MSNBC clearly has the highest Democratic, liberal viewership. If it were a rebuttal, he'd have been on Faux.

16. You're confusing venue or intention with effect.
The effect was a rebuttal. And a damn good one.

19. I call it preaching to the choir. Rebuttal would have been where the ReButts live.
Edited on Thu Sep-13-07 09:00 PM by Husb2Sparkly
That would have been Faux.

To be clear, the statement was good. I'm commenting mostly on the venue.

23. Edwards struck the right tone.... it is time to take Bush on and cut off his funding...
If Congress gives Bush more funding, they are just helping him kill more troops and Iraqis to preserve his 'legacy.' THat is indefensible.

Edwards is right.

24. Yes, but he forces Bush to cut off his OWN funding if he vetoes because of a timeline....
That's the beautiful part, which some Democrats in Congress can't seem to understand.

What is wrong with our "leadership" when they can't see a perfect set up for cornering Bushco??

Lay the cut at Bush's feet with a deadline, he gets funding with a deadline, or no funds - period. I said this yesterday, and I know Edwards and others have said as much previously.
