WHY does everybody BUT the Democratic Congress get it? |
|
How is it possible that the small, select group of individuals WE HIRED TO END THIS WAR simply does not understand what has to be done and how quickly it needs to happen?
Hell, even the Republiks get it, and they continue to laugh in our faces because of it!!!
Just askin', Ms. Pelosi.
NOTE: Excluding Edwards, Kucinich, and any others who are genuinely trying, of course...

Richardson. They have both been outside Washington DC long enough to have gotten a clue. Deprived of the DC social scene and the wise counsel of both lobbyists and think tank experts, they've been around enough to have gotten a major reality check.
I have especially seen that in Richardson, whose first 2 years as Governor were doctrinaire DLC. At some point he had an epiphany and his last couple of years have been great. He's still DLC but shows every sign of shaking them up. A lot.
Edwards is the candidate who has admitted the other 95% of us exist and that we've taken a beating from conservatives in both parties.
I will vote for whoever the Democratic nominee happens to be, of course, but these are the only two I'll consider voting for in the primary.

7. I like it when Edwards talks about poverty in America. It reminds me of the old guard Dems from... |

50 years ago. They were more economically left wing in those days than what we have today. They knew something about the struggle workers face in America. Of course, back then Dems tended to be more socially conservative than Repubs.

3. they are afraid to hurt their political game. |

To me thats not presidential and thats one of the reasons I am voting for Dennis Kucinich, he isn't playing the political game that so many Americans fall for. He is a true official for the people, exactly what we need as a president. Someone honest, stands for the people and is not interested in pandering to people to get support. He is who he is, you can vote with confidence when voting for Kucinich!

One of our Democratic Congressmembers (who is running for the U.S. Senate in 2008), held a town hall meeting yesterday. At one point he asked the people in the audience who supported "cutting off the funding for the troops" to raise their hands.
It was galling to hear a Democratic officeholder using the same propaganda lines as Bush and Faux News ... but that's what he did.
This from a supposedly liberal Congressman ... he knows better. It is about cutting off the money for the occupation, not the troops. Everyone seems to "get it" except people like this in Congress.
With Bush now talking about a strategic pact with the Iraq 'government' that could keep a U.S. military presence there forever, the Dems better wise up quick or their Congressional approval numbers are going to reach historic lows.

I believe they all favor tying withdrawal to funding.
We need the cloture vote to get it to the floor, to even challenge Bush to veto it.
