Tonight Bush kissed off Iraq, our military, our country, his presidency, and his party.
Edited on Thu Sep-13-07 10:24 PM by pinto
It was a classic Bush cut 'n run.

His vague remake of stay the course seemed little more than...a vague remake of stay the course.

This one featured Petraeus for cover, but little has changed. Nor will it.

The president said - in a telling moment - that our involvement in Iraq will be an 'enduring relationship' that will last beyond his term in office.

New phrase, same story, with the coda:

Somebody else will have to pick up the pieces. Very likely, it will be up to us Dem's.

He'll be in a condo in Houston. His cohorts will be consultants, talking heads or felons.

Bush bails again.

5. Yep once more in his miserable existence he has left a big giant turd
in the punchbowl and left it for somebody else to clean up. I just hope we collectively remember whose turd it was as we pay up the wazoo for the cleanup.

Edited on Thu Sep-13-07 10:39 PM by KAZ
Translated, "enduring commitment" means "Your land is our land". Watch the rhetoric rise in proportion to the fall in the dollar, and you'll see the real reason behind the PNAC.

Like it or not, and I'm sure most of us don't, the Chimp has set us on a course that will span decades. I hope Justice O'Connor thinks long and hard about that.

other PNAC targets? Not mention Iran at all? They are clearly running out a new product: an attack on Iran.

15. You are right about the country
I foresee the sudden collapse of the American Empire and the break up of the country into three to five successor states

Remember, you read it here first... but what you saw happen to the USSR... that is prologue to our future history

I'm confused about what constitutes a "victory" in Iraq. I listened to Bu$h's speech, and I'm still confused. However, it might be that I was matching him for shots earlier this evening.

39. Very Well Put...
When word leaked out that his assholiness would be using the "Korean" model of staying 30 or 50 years, I could see even Jeff Sessions gulp hard. You could just imagine the horror running through many other Repugnicans who were "assured" by Rove that Iraq wouldn't be an issue in '08...well to hell with that.

Mr. 5% credibility is now an albatross that has led his corrupt and morally bankrupt party into the abyss. And what does boooshie care? He's just thinking of all the easy coin he's gonna bring down doing meet and greets at the Heritage Foundation and other GOOP welfare camps.

Cheers...
