Jena 6 -- UPDATE -- Schools to close on September 20th

Schools in Jena, LA located on the South side of town will be closed on Thursday, September 20th.

The decision to close the schools stems from belief that 40,000 people are to be in Jena on Thursday for a massive protest on the day one of the Jena 6 is to be sentenced.

Schools may also be closed on Friday "depending on what happens, School Board member Billy Fowler said."

Why not the North side schools?
There are only two ways in and out of Jena, Louisiana.
Rumor is that all commercial venues will be closed.
