I just see it as a major, major obstacle. He is going to have to win by a large margin, an unlikely scenario. For that matter, I think Hillary suffers the same fate in a close election. The system is still broken.

on edit: While Obaama's appeal transcends racem he still needs a strong showing of African American voters.

1. I can't tell you how impressed I am by your subject line.
The racism was awe-inspiring. Breathtaking.

Had you only said "a Democrat" instead of Obama...

But you didn't.

5. Sorry you drew that erroneous conclusion but I also mention Hillary in my post.. Nevertheless,
the point I am objectively making is that southern and some middle American voters who might have stayed at home will surely turnout in droves just to thwart any possibility of a female or black candidate -- and in such a scenario, disenfranchised voters could really be the deciding factor, much more so than a scenario in which the candidates are white males. Hate to state the ugly obvious truth but doing so does not make me a racist.

3. Haven't you heard? ALL Dems rely on a strong showing of AA voters.

4. He is not getting as much African-American support as
Hillary. Before he gets to the General he will have to face that fact.

Black voters don't have to support Black candidates by the way. Hillary has earned their support.
