===============================
Imagine = John Lennon

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

4. Fear "the tornado of the Eagles". 'Cause they blow.
When they arrive in DC, these phonies will again face massed pro-troop Americans who will gather as Eagles did so successfully on March 17, and again we will show that those who would tear down and destroy America are but a flock of haters, a mere whisper in a wind tunnel, compared to the tornado of the Eagles.

Groups bringing pro-troop patriots to DC on Sept. 15 including Eagles Landing; Move America Forward which is hosting a nationwide caravan of families and supporters starting in California on Labor Day, Sept. 3, and arriving in DC on the 15th; Military Order of the Purple Heart; Gathering of Eagles; Free Republic; and Vets For Freedom; among many others.

But for all the efforts of these fine organizations, the true test of America’s willpower, its dedication to our shared values and principles, and its willingness to take the War on Terror to the terrorists, lies with mainstream Americans. America’s veterans, our true warriors, not phonies who doctor their service records and award themselves medals for non-existent acts of valor, will stand tall, as they always do.

If Congress is to bend to the will of the people, which our Constitution says it must, then the will of the people must be shown, loudly and clearly, and most importantly, in person. This must be accomplished by the participation of mainstream America, because we all have a stake in this -- our lives, and continuing freedom for future generations. Come to Washington. Join us.

18. I feel sort of bad. I told another DUer that I might go but
I just don't want to go this time. I'm sorry but I just don't feel up to it this time.
I don't want to ride on a bus and be confined like that for 8 hours and back and forth
in 36 hours and I don't want to drive the 700 miles and I feel bad so instead, I spent
my potential bus money ($55) on Move On ads and then I donated to Iraq Veterans Against
The War (IVAW) and a little to MFSO (Military Families Speak Out).

Please march and shout for me!! Will you?

And Thanks!!

21. Ralph Nader & Cindy Sheehan are the speakers?
Isn't there anyone of significance or, at least, someone not seen by the US as a wacko that will speak?

You'd think a couple of senators or congressmen would be willing. If no government official, maybe a big name celebrity or two to spark some interest in the casual public? With Nader and Sheehan, any media coverage will be riddled with laughter and the whole event will be marginalized.

26. Women's Peace Rally to Kick-Off Mass Mobilization
Women's Peace Rally to Kick-Off Mass Mobilization on Saturday Morning
http://www.commondreams.org/news2007/0914-11.htm

WASHINGTON - September 14 - Women from throughout the United States will gather to demand an end to the Iraq war, then join with tens of thousands of people at the ANSWER anti-war march.

WHEN: Saturday, September 15, 2007, 10:30 AM

WHERE: Women's Convergence at Freedom Plaza (Pennsylvania Ave between 13th & 14th NW), then join the rally/march starting at the White House at noon

VISUALS: Thousands of women dressed in pink, carrying anti-war signs and banners and wearing pink boas, wigs and other pink accessories.

WHAT: The rally, sponsored by the national women's peace group CODEPINK, will draw thousands of women from throughout the United States, most of them dressed in the group's signature color, pink. After the rally, the women will join up with the tens of thousands of people participating in the ANSWER anti-war march.

"The people of this country are disgusted with this war, with the President and with Congress," said Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CODEPINK and the human rights group Global Exchange. "We will be marching to demand that our elected officials to start listening to the people and bring our troops home."

CODEPINK is the national women's peace group that has most recently garnered international attention when its members "disrupted" General Petraeus' report on Iraq. Started in the lead-up to the Iraq war, CODEPINK has inspired thousands of women throughout the United States and the world to make the color pink synonymous with political rabble rousing.

CODEPINK's co-founders and several of its members have traveled to Iraq and witnessed first-hand the tragedy of the war there. The Iraq war has so far lasted longer than World War II and cost more than the Vietnam War. It has taken the lives of 3,776 US soldiers and caused the injuries of more than 50,000 others (http://www.icasualties.org/). A November 2006 study by Johns Hopkins University researchers found that an astonishing 655,000 Iraqis have died since the US invaded Iraq in 2003.

The women's peace rally is sponsored by CODEPINK and cosponsored by V-Day, Institute for Policy Study, Coalition Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran, and the National Congress of Black Women .

38. Let the coverage begin: WA POST Anti-War Protest Kicks Off at the White House
Anti-War Protest Kicks Off at the White House
By Jerry Markon and Dion Haynes
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, September 15, 2007; 12:30 PM
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/15/AR2007091500826.html

The first major protest against the Iraq War in Washington since January kicked off today with speeches near the White House, to be followed by a "die-in" at the U.S. Capitol featuring the playing of tap and a mock 21-gun salute.

Protesters and counter-protesters started to gather by 8:30 a.m. for the event, which is expected to be followed by a week of civil disobedience in the Washington area intended to shift the anti-war movement to a more confrontational phase. Organizers were predicting tens of thousands of protesters, though their permit is for 10,000

......

The event today is organized by the ANSWER Coalition, which stands for Act Now to Stop War and End Racism. It formally began at noon at Lafayette Park, on the north side of the White House, with speeches from at least two dozen speakers ranging from former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark and Ralph Nader to Washington Wizards player Etan Thomas and Michael Berg, whose son Nicolas was a contractor killed in Iraq.

In Lafayette Park, hundreds of protesters gathered to wait for the day's speeches. They walked around with signs that said the country should "drop Bush, not bombs" and declaring the President guilty of war crimes. They also listened to songs such as "the revolution will not be televised" and Edwin Starr's classic antiwar song "War."

41. September 15 Anti-War Protest == 'Unlike Any Other'
September 15 Anti-War Protest to Be 'Unlike Any Other'
By Nathan Burchfiel
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
September 13, 2007
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/viewstory.asp?Page=/Culture/archive/200709/CUL20070913a.html

(CNSNews.com) - Organizers of an anti-war protest scheduled for Sept. 15 said Wednesday that the demonstration will be "unlike any other" as activists gather to demand an immediate end to the war.

The protest, organized by Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER), begins with a rally near the White House, continues with a march to the U.S. Capitol, and concludes with a "die-in" that organizers estimate will involve approximately 1,000 people lying down near the Capitol in a symbolic effort to represent dead U.S. soldiers and dead Iraqis.

Brian Becker, ANSWER's national coordinator, told reporters at a news conference Wednesday that the demonstration "will be unlike any other anti-war protest in recent years because it will culminate in a massive civil disobedience," referring to the "die-in."

He said the volunteers who have signed up online to participate in the demonstration are risking arrest by participating. The group expects "tens of thousands" to protest the war. ............

http://abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/09/15/2033798.htm

About 50 people have gathered outside the United States Consulate in Sydney's CBD, protesting against the Iraq war.

The Stop the War Coalition says it is marking the release of the US Government's latest report on the progress of the war and wants charges laid against the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) protesters dropped.

Organiser Alex Bainbridge says the protest has been timed to coincide with other Iraq war protests around the world. ..........

48. Ah, yes. A Ph.D. in "scatalogical besmearment." And as old a tactic as there is.
Pile it High and Deep, and if you can make things small bad enough, everyone will scram elsewhere.

Works on discussion boards too. Just post a photo that is grossly distasteful, and no one will post there any longer.
