What was well planned out by the administration was put into doubt by this message. When things go bad again "Betray us" will come to mind.

7. I go on a MB with a lot of Bush lovers....

And the day the ad came out, they were incensed. "How could they" all the echo of the right wing talkers they heard on the radio that morning. they started thread about it.

But a funny thing happened. We (as in the lefty, pinko-commie bastards) pointed out how the ad was telling the truth. How Petraeus was not being honest about the figures and the methods he was using to compile them. How it contradicted his past statements etc. We put up the evidence as to how he was lying, documents, articles the whole deal.

After about a hundred posts or so, they were all saying "Wow he did betray us". They were seeing how things were really.

Now they are not so ready to accept the Bush propaganda machine. Until that day, they were all right in the line and would not accept anything coming from Us or moveon. but we showed them how Moveon works and how the Bushies were in fact lying to them.
