Have you ever wanted to write a commercial? |
|
I just finished reading a post here on DU. We need reminding why the US went to war in Iraq in the first place. A commercial comes to mind.......
Colin Powell addressing the UN explaining Saddam's WMD arsonal and threat to the world. We all recall it. We all know its falsehoods, but it should be shown again knowing what we know now.
Fade to Donald Rumsfeld stating boldly that they knew precisely where the WMD's were, south, east, north or south of Baghdad somewhat....
Fade To Dick Cheney blatently stating that they knew for a fact that Saddam had reconstituted his nuclear weapons program.
Fade to Hans Blix addressing the UN for the last time, explaining that the UN inspectors had found nothing and were getting better more access into sites that were previously banned from inspection....and how he figured 6 more months would complete the inspection.
Fade to see -
See George Bush addressing the nation explaining the invasion of Iraq - the reasons - Saddam's blatent disregard for disarming WMD...blah, blah, blah. Bush's own words spoken by the man himself.
Fade to see George Bush looking under his desk and laughing - "Nope - no WMD here....wonder where they could be?" (Press dinner joke)
Fade to see the final report by American Charles Duelfer stating that Saddam Hussein had no WMD stockpiles whatsoever.
Remind us that the reason America went to war was because Saddam Hussein had reconstituted his WMD programs.....not because he may of wanted to reconstitute them some time in the unwritten future.
And finally ask the hard question - why fund a war that was based on lies, and more importantly - why trust an administration that has abused the trust of the people, put troops in harms way, killed tens of thousands of Iraqi's, destabilized a nation? And the most important question of all - In America, the pillar of freedom, liberty, justice, and democracy.......why is George W. Bush still in power??????
I know - this is all old news....but in the fog of war, the rhetoric of staying and winning (even though the definition of a win is yet to be written) we sometimes forget how we got there in the first place.

they sent out a email asking for members to apply for the positions. It is a pay job. And I think you can do it from home. And you have a mentor.
