What happens if we refuse to confirm any of Bush's AG appointments? |
|
Personally, I don't believe we should confirm another one of Bush's appointments - I don't care if it's for some low-level Federal judge in some obscure district.

1. I thought we were refusing to confirm anyone |
|
until we got the subpoenaed material.
What is happening with that?

2. That's what Leahy said; I'm hoping he'll reconsider that |
|
with this nomination. I'd much rather see a pledge from the nom to appt a special prosecutor to look into all the malfeasance that happened under Gonzo, and a promise to have the U.S. Attny in DC prosecute those who are not complying with Congressional subpoenas.

Leahy is certainly in position to bargain. Let's hope he uses it.

4. I just read in LBN that Bush ALREADY appointed Mukasey |
|
and it was a done deal. I guess he took the weekend as a recess appointment?

it's not a recess appointment. He'll have to be confirmed.
