Moveon might be smarter than most of us think.
Look down the road a Friedman Unit or two with no real change in Iraq and Moveon is going to look more prophetic than accusatory.

It was subtle bait but the MSM swallowed it whole.

The meme is set, all it will take is a trigger for it to spread

All IMO of course.

5. Just the "conventional wisdom" types
the same sorts who always rationalize and find excuses for "keeping the powder dry."

He doesn't normally look that joyful.

Exactly about the mind worm.

I think it works long term.

17. Well that is what
Edited on Sun Sep-16-07 10:58 PM by MatrixEscape
a faddist society gets when it buys into, lock, stock and barrel, the convenience of channel-changing when it is applied to the definition of what is real, unreal, in, out, and of value, at any given moment. This is a new phenomena in respect to the frequency and amount of impacting change implied.

Fads are not bad in themselves, (they can be uplifting and exciting) but the rate of rapid change they cab bring has a direct relationship to the degree of manipulation and propaganda they can convey in order to adjust response to events is a crucial concern that we now have to face as a populace. It is still about checks and measures and balance, no matter how the nuts on the bungee cord of life want us to jump of a particular bridge, at a particular time, for a particular reason.

Critical thinking might delay the jump and consider the consequences without forbidding people from doing the act and without moral indictments or, at the very worst, fines, for going through with it.

There is so much to lean by that bungee-jumping analogy, but it will not be televised, and most likely, it will not be taught in a school near you.

4. Evidently, MSM hasn't mentioned that Petraeus' superior called him an "ass-kissing chickenshit"?
or that Senator Lantos at the hearing commented that this administration is merits suspicion and has not been trustworthy. He said it not in those words -- better.

13. With a wimpy title would that Move On Ad gotten any attention?
Their next Ad detailing Weapons Scandal linked to Betrayus should be:

"Ass kissing, Chicken Shit Betrayed US"

sub title: "Weapons Scandal linked to Betrayus"

16. No publicity is bad publicity
Anyone paying attention knows Petraeus works for Bush. He is a General given a mission, it isn't like anyone expected him to say "ohhh, the war is hopeless, I want to go home now".

I think people are sick of a Republican noise machine that tries to stomp out all dissent. People don't want to live like that no matter which side is doing the stomping. It is un-American. So I think the ad effectively showed again how juvenile the Republicans look any chance they get.

19. IMO, this sort of cowardly handwringing...
represents everything wrong with the party.

Fuck Petraeus. If there was anything wrong with the ad it's that it wasn't strong enough.
