and then they cut it. I think the 2nd word was "damned". You can't say goddamned on broadcast television. I think that's why they cut her, the expletive, not the war statement. They blanked Ray Romano earlier in the night too and he was mid-joke. Yeah, I know it's Fox but honestly, ANY network would have censored that or faced a huge fine from the FCC. You can say it on cable, just not on broadcast.

...because she prefaced it all by saying that her character on Brothers & Sisters, Nora Walker, is a tribute to all mothers, especially those who see their children go off to war. Nora's son, in the season finale, went to Iraq after serving a tour in Afghanistan as well as suffering a relapse of drug addiction, brought on by his first tour.

Sally Field's remarks were classy, spot on, and quite moving.
