What would happen from a publicized "Honk for impeachment" campaign?

Beep your horn every five seconds or so. Keep beeping as you keep driving.

That'd be a lot of fucking horns, wouldn't it?

Cacaphony across America.

3. I think that could end up costing individuals more than it's worth.
I think the idea has appeal, since the car horn is considered an emergency warning device (great tie-in to the war).

But misuse of car horns can also land ya in trouble. In Seattle, misuse of a car horn can result in a $124 fine. In Illinois, the state law says, ""The driver of a motor vehicle shall, when reasonably necessary to insure safe operation, give audible warning with his horn but shall not otherwise use such horn when upon a highway."

4. If I heard horns while being issued a ticket, I'd consider it worthwhile.

6. Then you must have $100 with which to pay a ticket.
Lots of people don't. That's all I'm saying.

I'd do it, too, because I also have the money to pay a ticket for blowing my horn in public protest.

7. I don't have much $$$, but I'd consider it a bargain.
Not a lot of cops would pull you over when over half of the cars are honking.

9. Selective enforcement and police brutality...

Perhaps it could be done only at certain times, like 20 minutes after every hour. Just a couple of seconds of horn blowing. I bet it would be noisy where I live in Northern California and screw those who would complain.

It is a free speech issue, especially if it is part of a campaign.

Moveon.org or something more grass roots?

10. We've got the numbers. It's just a question of organization
Local cops won't touch it. They don't want the hassle.

11. Folks who don't use cars would be suspected of not favoring impeachment
Even though using means of transportation other than automobiles is a viable method of straightening out a lot of the foreign policy and environmental problems that a lot of the folks on this site are concerned about.
