WOW! Progress *IS* Being Made in Iraq!
Edited on Mon Sep-17-07 10:38 AM by berni_mccoy
The Iraqi Government is booting Blackwater. That's a sure sign of independence from the Iraqi Government and I applaud them for it. The PRIVATE MERCENARY ARMY has no place in Iraq. And the bigger implication is that the operations that are being executed over there by our military are probably depending on the HIRED MERCENARIES that costs 300K+ each per year from companies like Blackwater and Haliburton. This means that if the Iraqi Government is successful in exercising their LEGAL RIGHT to remove Blackwater, then BushCo will be faced with two alternatives: Send over U.S. Soldiers to replace the HIRED MERCENARIES *or* withdraw. My bet is that Iraq is using this as a way to force BushCo's hand and see what they will do, with the hope that they will withdraw (they Iraqi government has already spoken that they want the U.S. out of Iraq). If BushCo forces Blackwater to stay, then clearly, the agenda of BushCo is exposed and they will be violating out in the open, the charter they set up with Iraq. There will be even more chaos if they try to do this, and chances are the Iraqi government would be dissolved.

This is it folks. A true PIVOTAL moment in the war and BushCo's being forced to lay down his hand. I bet he's got deuces hi.

1. I'll take that bet.....
my guess is that he's playing 5-card stud, and is holding only 4 cards in his hand.

IOW, a card shy of a full hand.

4. It's obvious that he's not playing 5-card stud.

Why else would he be yelling "Go Fish" evey time someone asks any question of substance about how or why he and his mis-administration do anything?

"Where are the WMDs?"
"Go fish!"

"Who did Cheney meet with for his energy task force?"
"Go fish!"

"Who outed Valerie Plame?"
"Go fish!"

"Was there really election fraud in Florida and Ohio?"
"Go fish!"

"What was Rove's involvement in the firing of federal prosecutors?"
"Go fish!"

Bastards, every one of them....

2. Just remember that there are many other private mercenary groups in Iraq.
Per this inteview on TDS with jeremy Scahill, Blackwater is not the only privatized group over there.
And, should our troops be pulled, we, as American citizens, will still be having our tax money abused to pay for the continued fighting on behalf of the BushCo/PNAC Regime as these mercenaries will remain.

3. As I understand it, it will only be in Baghdad that BW will have

it's license pulled. They will still operate in the rest of the country.

Also, if they are not murdering people over there, that will free them up to enforce fascism by murdering people over here. Do we want Blackwater to follow us home?

On edit: It looks as though I was wrong. Apparently they are having their license suspended for all of Iraq.

6. Should we fight them (Blackwater)
over there so we don't have to fight them over here?

All kidding aside, the development of large privatized miltary forces is something I find more than a little bit troublesome.

5. Thought you might want to read this Scahill interview from Democracy NOW!
The point being that Congress must account for our money being spent to fight this war. And, BushCo MUST be investigated for the leveling of Fallujah, which appears to be done as revenge for the four Blackeater mercs being killed.

And a very revealing interview re: Blackwater/Fallujah from TruthDig:

12. The Iraqi PM has no say. The government officials have no say.
They may be feigning "a say",...but, they know damn well they have none.

I'm sorry. BushCO still rules and will rule until permanent military bases and a lucrative oil agreement is reached.

Besides, Blackwater will just turn into some other monster we will pay out our noses to fulfill the corporacrats' wet dream.

Again, sorry. Announcements like these speak nothing to me.

14. Blackwater never had a license for Iraq
They are paid by the American government, not Iraq, and are there at the request of the American government, not Iraq. It looks like Iraqi politicians have learned how to engage in meaningless political posturing, just like our politicians. Blackwater isn't going anywhere.
