I'm a woman, but I think was she was doing was totally inappropriate. If she didn't want to go to a more private place, she could have covered it.

I think the sensitivities of others should be taken into consideration. These nursing mothers seem to be so belligerent as to their "rights." It reminds me of the smokers, in years past, who seemed to think they had the "right" to smoke, regardless of how uncomfortable their smoke made you feel.

among the indigenous people to see women nursing. No one really worried about it or the naked toddlers playing in the patios, quite visible to any passerbyers. I understand it was quite common before the Victorian era too, in Europe and here in America. A woman with a child who needed to be fed, nursed it out in public, doing whatever it was that she had to do at the time, with no effort to cover up until she was done.

I think we need to lift laws banning toplessness on beaches and at swimming pools. I think this would go a long way to change the perception of the female body as something dirty and naughty. Once people see boobs of all sizes, ages and degress of firmness, they are no longer titillating nor interesting.
