CNN just played the unedited version of Sally Fields' speech, and
are pointing out Fox's censoring. Nice job!

1. A big change from what Kiran Shitrey and some black woman
were saying about her this morning on CNN.

2. I have no use for that woman; she rubs me the wrong way.
I'm at a loss in the am, because Scarborough does likewise. CSPAN gets my biz most days.

4. I am so glad that they are gone before I wake up.
One of the good things about residing on the Left Coast.

5. Canada didn't block it out thank goodness
and from what I understand "god damn" is not a FCC violation?

7. If God doesn't damn war then what would God damn??
Edited on Mon Sep-17-07 07:48 PM by TahitiNut
It seems quite benign to me. After all, "war is hell" is an equivalent way of saying the exact same thing ... nothing wrong with that language that I can see.

IMHO, "holy war" is the obscenity ... and an oxymoron besides.

6. The censored speech which bothers me even more than Sally Field's
is the one that Kathy Griffin made, in which she said something about not thanking God because he had little to do with it. Now as far as I know, this isn't illegal and no sweraing was involved. Besides, she's right. She worked her butt off and should be rewarded for it. So what if she says some damn deity had little to do with it?
I am not sure of the exact text of the speech, but I'm reasonably sure she said something along those lines. And Fox censored it. Kinda says it all about the Fox agenda, if you ask me.
