If we have the "best" military in the world
Why do we need to hire private gunslingers to protect the brass of said military..and to guard visiting dignitaries?

THAT'S the real question to be asked about the whole Blackwater Incident.

They are little more than hired thugs, armed to the teeth, answering to no one for their actions.. and our government willingly hires them BECAUSE they can get down & dirty with no accountability:grr:

4. You answered it yourself....
"BECAUSE they can get down & dirty with no accountability". And they have no morals, they answer to the almighty dollar, just like every mercenary.

5. Another question. The US spends more on defense than the rest
of the world combined. Why do we need to hire Blackwater and why can't we win a war in a country with no army?

Where's all that friggin' money goin'?

6. What is the USA really "best" at?
- We have the largest, most money-making movie industry in the world, and mostly it churns out vulgar, over-commercialized crap.
- We have some of the best colleges and universities on the planet, yet shocking levels of illiteracy and poor performance in math and science skills (compared to countries like Japan) for an industrialized country
- We have some of the most highly-developed medical technology and drugs in the world, but do not have universal health care coverage for the entire populace

I could go on and on.

7. no one is a citizen any more -- we have professional soldiers{like doctors or lawyers} -- we have
consumers of -- well -- everything instead of citizens, we have ''private'' security forces working for the military and on it all goes.

none of this is right -- none of it.
