Fred Thompson has no chance
Whether we’re looking for someone to date or sizing up a potential rival, our eyes irresistibly lock on to good-looking people, a new study finds. Participants, all heterosexual men and women, fixated on highly attractive people within the first half-second of seeing them. Single folks ogled the opposite sex, of course. But those in committed relationships more often eyed beautiful people of the same sex.

He must be in a committed relationship.

Tweety said...
Freddy was the best he'd ever helt, felt, or smelt and then Tweety went in to a slobbering frenzy, on national TV, in front of Gawd and everybody.

2. That is why in the California primary, if it looks as if the Democratic nominee is wraped up
and it looks close between thompson and guiliani, I just might vote for thompson in the primaries

He is so far to the right of most Americans

Then again if it looks as if Edwards or Obama actually have a chance to get the nomination, and Hillary is not a shoe in, I will have to vote for Edwards in the primary

In California if you declare yourself as non-partisan, then you can choose which ballot to use, Democratic or republican

6. More and more
It's looking like the nomination is Hillary's to lose. Our best bet is to try to taint the GOP nomination process so that the general election is a landslide so huge, that the cheats can't rig the election. Here's to another multi-generational Democtrat party rule of the presidency and both houses of congress, like what we had after FDR!

5. His "attractiveness" has never been in his physical "beauty."
He is seen as a ladies man because of his charm.

Look, I don't want him elected anymore than I want Bush to remain for a third term, but you must really come to grips with the power behind Fred Thompson. I spent an entire day with him once when I was reporting. He *is* charming, not nearly as stupid as DUers would have you believe, and will concentrate all the swing-vote Bubbas and Bubbettes away from the Democratic nominee (these are white people of varying ages in the South and mid-West who are ticked at the Republican Party, despite the fact they have voted for them for years, but may be lured to vote Democratic for their pocketbook, but absolutely will not vote for a woman, a black man nor a metrosexual, as we're sending up).

If we put up any of our top three, be prepared to start saying "President Thompson." :puke:

12. Then you can tell
everyone all about how you once spent the day with the President. That'll make some nice stories and impress people. Sorry, months later, the rest of us still ain't seeing the charm.

14. Hillary Is Waxing Him In The Polls
http://www.pollingreport.com/wh08gen.htm

When the Clinton machine gets done working him he'll wish he never left Law And Order...

Oh, the usual retort is "Oh, but you can't rely on a poll more than a year out."

Well, I'll give more weight to polling data a year out than somebody's opinion on a messageboard...

As an aside I'm not convinced he has the stamina to withstand a whole primary season and general election campaign... I do volunteer work at a local nursing home and some of the residents look more vibrant than Fred...

8. The thing everyone is missing about Daddy Warbucks Thompson
is...he is too confident. He isn't campaigning or trying to raise money. So he must know the "fix" is in. And that no matter what he is going to be the nominee, that rove's place on the sidelines is working up ways to steal the elections.

10. Maybe
or maybe he's in way over his head. He's fat, old, bald, lazy, sweaty, worn... compare that to Bush who (and it's hard to remember 7 years ago) looked young, fit, folksy, and had a full head of hair. That was a guy you could work with.

13. The guy's wife is 24 years younger than he is, is
not bad looking, and he's knocked her up twice. I'll give him credit. His situation is not unlike Rupert Murdoch's. Even if you're an older guy as long as you have money, fame, or both you can still make good.
