LOVE BUGS
We are having a bumper crop this year in South Mississippi. I've vacuumed the garage every day for the past five now and have to do it again today. They are driving me nuts. Drove down the interstate last Saturday and thought I was being shot at as I killed thousands of them. Anyone else enjoying the little buggers this year?

1. loving them in south georgia
I drove 250 miles yesterday and the corolla is covered in the remnants of dozens of the suicidal buggers. I'm just glad they dont scream before they hit the windshield.

15. That reminds me...
Driving along the Beach Road in Galveston one night.

Hopelessly wasted and in the middle of receiving exactly one of those from a chick I had met at a bar.

All of a sudden, there are flashing lights behind me.

I pulled over and zipped up, right quick-like. Chick starts bitching about something but I couldn't understand her.

Cop tells me to get out of the vehicle to do some Stupid Human Tricks.

So I get out of the car and the cop starts laughing.

I look down and there is blonde hair about two feet long hanging out of the fly of my pants.

He let me go.

20. You should be ashamed of yourself.
That was danged funny.

Interestingly enough, the chick lost interest.

I found out later that she had a hard time explaining the bald spot to her husband.

God only knows how/why I often find myself in crazy situations.

Personally, I quit trying to figure it out decades ago.

8. A nasty little black flying critter
always seen connected to their partner and found in mass quantities in the south this time of year. They are attracted to heat and end up on and around highways and they do a great job on paintjobs.

19. Yeah, it's the paintjob part that sucks...they're very acidic
If you don't remove their splattered carcasses promptly, they'll permanently adhere to your paint job.

10. Naw, it's them little black buggers that fly around this time of year, tail-to-tail.
They are all along the Gulf Coast.

When you drive thru a swarm, they can cover your windshield in goo so much that you cannot see.

In Texas we called them F#*k Bugs.

11. They earned that name
Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 01:26 PM by BOSSHOG
because they are forever copulating and flying around joined at the whatever and getting sent to oblivion by crashing into windshields. A few years ago I had to pull off the road and clean my windshield there were so many of them. they also stink when dead.

4. Aw, I miss love bugs!
I grew up in Florida, and remember them dearly. No such beast here in New England. Spray your car with Teflon or PAM before you go driving! And wear a condom.

16. Drove through Slidell on Saturday...
On the way back from Mobile. They were there, but they weren't all THAT thick.

But I have to consider that I wasn't coming through during their peak morning or late afternoon times. Dirty little bastards- they WANT people to watch them fornicate. Where is the religious right when you need 'em???
